Sustainability

Sustainability has become a buzzword these days—primarily through the marketing of large corporations—and some legally self-evident things are being sold as sustainability.

For us, sustainability means the consistent use of ecologically sound materials and the manufacture of high-quality, long-lasting products.

Because: What happens when products are only suitable for quick, short-term use? They are frequently replaced and create senseless mountains of waste? What happens when people earn so little money that they can only buy cheap products? They become increasingly poorer because they have to replace their cheap products frequently, and poor products also cause mental and health problems.

In addition to the ecological and economic dilemma associated with substandard consumption, it is also about the cultural decline of a society that consumes today, throws away tomorrow, and has barely any memory of the things that determine life today. Good things, especially furniture, become embedded in a society's culture and document its development, storing memories. The so-called classics would not have achieved this status if they were made of poor materials or poorly manufactured.

A good futon or natural mattress can provide good service for 15-25 years, depending on quality and use. Our products can do that!
Handcrafted craftsmanship is one part of the process, fair working conditions another.

The term sustainability has sometimes degenerated into a marketing ploy (by corporations: "greenwashing"), and some legally self-evident things are sold as sustainability. For us, sustainability means the consistent use of ecologically sound materials and the manufacture of high-quality, long-lasting products.

The so-called classics wouldn't have achieved this status if they were made of poor materials or poorly manufactured.
