Quality and guarantee
The futons from FUTONWERK are all manufactured under clearly defined quality principles:
- We ensure that we source our materials from experienced suppliers and specifically select the quality we require for our products.
- Our suppliers test the raw materials for relevant pollutants according to clear criteria, usually based on the specifications of QuL and the ECO Institute, Cologne, and confirm their safety.
- We ensure that our products are manufactured with the utmost craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- We are committed to ensuring that our raw materials and products are transported without unnecessary transport wherever possible.
- Our goal is to offer you the best possible service at a fair price so that as many people as possible can benefit from this quality.
Quality guidelines / guarantee
Our customers expect products from us that are completely natural – that is our minimum standard.
- All raw materials are tested for purity according to the strictest guidelines, using state-of-the-art analytical techniques. They are tested for approximately 240 relevant pollutants. Certification is carried out annually by the ECO Environmental Institute in Cologne.
- Ecology is a fundamental value for us, and sustainability is our top priority. A sustainable product is created not only through ecological materials, but also through high material quality that guarantees a long service life. Only when a product lasts does it truly meet the criteria of sustainability. This top quality ensures well-being and a long service life – a true win-win for both parties.
- Fair working conditions accompany the entire production process – thus, we contribute to a better world.
Another important point: Our products should not only be useful, but also affordable.
Our raw materials are mostly natural and, where possible, organic.
- We primarily use cotton from controlled organic farming (kbA) or GOTS-certified cotton. The standard fleece in our DX collection is also ECO-certified. All our textile products are organic.
- Our fleece wool – in Alpenland-Qualität® – comes from Austria and comes from sheep that traditionally migrate from meadow to meadow. We also use Plein Air fleece wool from French free-range sheep, which is particularly high-quality and durable.
- Our natural latex is 100% pure, without added fillers or synthetic polymers.
- Horsehair comes from conventional sources in Europe, as there are no alternatives.
- Coconut fibers come from Sri Lanka and India and are completely safe.
Our upholstery fabrics are woven in Münsterland according to the highest environmental standards, all in organic quality (GOTS).
We are not yet satisfied with all aspects of the product cycle, but we are continuously working to meet our own standards.

Guarantee
We guarantee that our futon mattresses are natural and uncontaminated – and will give you long-lasting pleasure.
As a traditional manufacturer, we produce each futon with the utmost precision: All materials are carefully prepared, cut, and layered, the fabrics are precisely tailored and sewn, and each stitching point is individually secured. To protect the fabric, the stitching is done by machine. We always ensure that your futon is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
We discuss customer requests regarding dimensions or construction and usually implement them.

Our Quality Commitment
The careful use of high-quality materials guarantees you reliable and impeccably crafted products. Our complaint rate is approximately 1% per year – a testament to our high quality.
However, we are cautious about making ostentatious warranty promises, as we want to differentiate ourselves from the often dubious guarantees of the mattress industry. Our motto is: If a customer complains about our quality – be it due to materials or workmanship – we always find a customer-friendly solution.
Based on our quality commitment, we offer a 10-year warranty on the functionality of your futon. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time if anything should go wrong.
From experience, we know that the average service life of our futons is over 15 years, with record values approaching 30 years.
