Zen 8 with merino wool filling offers a gently firm lying comfort for in-between moments, simply lounging, traveling, or for light stomach/back sleepers as a fully functional futon.
When combined with another Zen or Yasumi as a TWIN futon, Zen 8 provides lasting softness because it is both supple and strong. Its effect is preserved long-term through good ventilation, as wool and the wool wax (lanolin) that stabilizes the fiber need fresh air/oxygen to regenerate. Regular turning and occasional fluffing/rolling will extend its lifespan.
In the cotton version, always made with organic cotton, Zen 8 feels quite different: more volume but also significantly more variability. The delicate cotton fibers are less resilient to daily weight stress than wool fibers and compress more in the lying area. Therefore, a cotton futon requires more care, such as turning, rolling, and occasional sunbathing in summer. You’ll be amazed at the effect. We designed Zen 8 / cotton this way so that vegans or highly sensitive people have a cozy cover. Depending on body weight, combine with Zen or Yasumi futon.
