Futon purchase | Tips & information
How do I find my perfect futon?
The search for the ideal futon is not as complicated or boring as you might think.
Our goal is for you to find the futon that will bring you the most joy and give you a feeling of well-being and restful sleep. We are happy to take the time to delve deeper into the topic, because ultimately it is about your health and well-being - so that you can start the day rested and relaxed.
Find the right futon for your weight
As a rough guide, we have added weight information to our futons. This information is fairly precise, but may vary depending on individual experiences with futons. They are per person, not per futon. All of our products are suitable for lighter people, especially for back or stomach sleepers. For heavier people, we recommend a closer look, especially when it comes to side sleepers who, based on our description, should look at the softer or more comfortable products.
Our "softness" does not mean what is usually considered soft. Basically, you lie quite firmly on a futon, especially compared to standard mattresses.
Our high latex content made from extra-firm natural latex does not compromise strength, but rather offers an additional comfort advantage that experienced futon sleepers will appreciate.
Our futons are unbeatable when it comes to bed climate and durability. By using first-class materials with good bearing capacity and fine adjustment, it is not difficult to make the right choice.
Futon in comparison: Futons are not “soft”, but supple
We describe the standard “softness” as “unstable”. Many people think their sagging mattress is soft because it gives way. Our form of "softness", which we call gentle, means a smooth adjustment to the surface, especially for side sleepers.
Futons are not “hard”, but stable
By this we mean a stable lying position without sinking in, which still cushions the weight and reduces the pressure on the skin. It is gentle on the surface and stable on the inside. Futons that are mainly made of cotton and after 3-4 years of use without regular care could be described as “hard”.
Consider your individual needs
Ask yourself if you are sensitive to pressure, especially in your shoulders and hips, if you are a quiet person or if you move around a lot, if you are a side sleeper or sleep on your back or stomach. Also consider whether you sleep alone or as a couple, whether you sweat or feel cold, whether you have physical ailments or simply need a new futon.
For most of our customers, switching to a futon from a traditional sleeping pad is a relief.
Switching from a traditional sleeping pad to a futon can make a significant difference, especially during the adjustment period. It can take a few days to weeks for the body to get used to the new sleeping cushion, even if the previous cushion was not optimal. This effect can be particularly noticeable for people who are heavier and those who have slept on a conventional mattress for a long time. Sometimes there may even be some physical irritation or adjustment even though the futon is of high quality. However, once you get used to your futon, these initial difficulties will no longer be a concern. However, for most of our customers, switching to a futon is a relief right from the start.
