Is the DW 6.1 a hard mattress?
No, you can't really say that; "hard" is too rough a term and very relative—what is hard for some is just comfortable for others. High firmness fits better, meaning: you don’t sink in, no matter your weight, you always stay on the surface, on top. Those who appreciate and seek exactly that know what is meant. Consistently stable lying, in as straight a position as possible. The muscles are engaged to support, strengthening the deep muscles and fascia, and promoting lying on your back... a bit like Pilates training in your sleep.
This futon mattress has a load capacity that not everyone needs, so it is mainly intended for heavier individuals or couples where one partner is very heavy.
But no matter what weight you lie on this futon, it feels "real."

Of course, if I want the genuine, typical futon feeling—quiet stability, calm, earthy stable lying—then DW 6.1 offers me this in the best way. And for everyone, regardless of weight.

Biofuton DW 6.1 is always made with edges and turning handles.
A futon feels different depending on body weight:
- 50-70 kg: medium to firm
- 70-100 kg: firm (optimal)
- 100-150 kg: increasingly firmer
A quality mattress has its weight. Therefore, for large beds, it is recommended to use two single mattresses; except for beds without frames. Due to the generous filling, no gap will form.
DW 6.1 can lie on any surface, best on a sturdy slatted frame, like our slatted frames.
Every mattress should be turned to distribute wear evenly and extend its lifespan. Futons are best turned initially when changing bed linen, later less often. This futon is so strong that many people hardly show signs of wear, requiring less frequent turning.
